A meeting of the Community Engagement Committee will be held on Tuesday 19th March, 2024 at 6.30 p.m. in the Parish Council Meeting Room

Lock on the gate to the Playing Field Car Park Woodlands Green

The Parish Council recently took the lock off the gate to the Playing Field Car Park to enable access for users of the playing field to park their vehicles in the car park and to relieve pressure on parking in Woodlands
Green for which complaints have been received.

Will whoever put the lock on the gate please remove it so that it allows users of the playing field to  park their vehicles in the car park and reduce parking in Woodlands Green.

MIDDLETON ST. GEORGE PARISH COUNCIL

VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR

I hereby give Notice that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for the Middleton St. George Parish Council.

Rule 5(2) of the Local Elections (Parish and Communities (England and Wales) Rules, 2006 now applies.

The rule allows for TEN ELECTORS for the Parish in which the casual vacancy exists to request the Returning Officer to hold an election to fill the vacancy.  That request must be made in writing within fourteen working days of the notice and must be received no later than midnight on Friday 16 February, 2024.

Parish Councillor Vacancy COME AND JOIN US – HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Applications are sought for ONE PARISH COUNCILLOR VACANCY.

Should you wish to offer your services as a Parish Councillor, please submit your application either in writing or by e-mail to the Parish Clerk, Alan Macnab, 5, Whitebridge Drive, Darlington DL1 3TY.  Email clerk@middleton-st-george.org.uk BY FRIDAY 2ND FEBRUARY, 2024.

If you wish to apply for the vacancy please provide :

a)    A supporting statement outlining your motivation, skills and experience you can offer the Parish Council, and what time you have available to that role

b)    A signed statement declaring that you fulfil the legal requirements (qualifications under the Local Government Act 1972)

c)    Your contact details

Some of the skills and qualities that would be useful to the role include problem-solving and analytical skills, assessing objectively, having ideas, commitment, “keeping going” skills, and teamwork skills.  Also useful would be the ability to understand budgets and financial paperwork.

Training will be provided.

The Parish Council will consider applications at the Parish Council meeting on the 12th February 2024  where a decision will be made.
