Footpaths Stopping Up and Diversion

DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS NO.8 IN THE PARISH OF SADBERGE

AND NOS. 10 AND 11 IN THE PARISH OF MIDDLETON ST GEORGE)

STOPPING UP AND DIVERSION ORDER 2019

 On the 17th January 2020 the above named Order, made under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, was confirmed by the Council.  Notice of confirmation was given by way of notice dated 24th January 2020.  The effect of the Order is to stop up part of Footpath 11 in the Parish of Middleton St George as described in Part 1 of the Schedule below; and divert those parts of Footpath 8 in the Parish of Sadberge and Footpath 10 in the Parish of Middleton St George described in Part 1 of the Schedule below and replace them with the footpaths described in Part 2 of the Schedule.  The footpaths are located at White House Farm and Hartburn Farm, Middleton St George.

Footpath No.8

Parish of Sadberge

Starting at Point A, NZ 35201 15163 on Footpath No.8 in the Parish of Sadberge going north east to Point B, NZ 35223 15168, then going south east to Point C, NZ 35250 15159, where it meets Footpath Nos.10 and 11 in the Parish of Middleton St George.

Parish of Middleton St George

 

Starting at Point E, NZ 35249 15105 on Footpath No. 10 in the Parish of Middleton St George going north east to Point D, NZ 35271 15121, then north west to Point C, NZ 35250 15159 where it meets Footpath No.8 in the Parish of Sadberge and Footpath No. 11 in the Parish of Middleton St George. 

Width 1.8 to 2.4 metres.

Parish of Middleton St George

 

Starting at Point F, NZ 35217 15143 on Footpath No.11 in the Parish of Middleton St George going north-east towards the farm buildings to Point C, NZ 35250 15159 where it meets Footpath No. 8 in the Parish of Sadberge and 10 in the Parish of Middleton St George. 

Width 30cm where defined.

DESCRIPTION OF SITE OF NEW FOOTPATHS

Footpath No.8

Parish of Sadberge

Starting at Point A, NZ 35201 15163 on Footpath No. 8 in the Parish of Sadberge going south east directly to Point F, NZ 35217 15143, where it meets Footpaths 10 and 11 in the Parish of Middleton St George. 

Width – 2 metres.

Limitation: single step wooden stile in wire fence at Point F NZ 35217 15143 compliant with BS 5709.2006

 

Footpath No.10            

Parish of Middleton St George

Starting at Point E, NZ 35249 15105 on Footpath No. 10 in the Parish of Middleton St George going north west along the field headland to Point F, NZ 35217 15143 where it meets Footpath No. 8 in the Parish of Sadberge and Footpath No.11 in the Parish of Middleton St George

Width – 2 metres.

DIVERSION ORDER 2017

 

On the 8th December 2017 the above named Order, made under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, was confirmed by the Council.  Notice of confirmation was given by way of notice dated 13th December 2017.  The effect of the Order is to divert the part of Public Footpath 55 Darlington described in Part 1 of the Schedule below and replace it with the footpath described in Part 2 of the Schedule and as shown on the Order Map.

Starting at Point A, NZ 30871 15459 at McMullen Road on Footpath No. 55 going east to Point B, NZ 30880 15464 a distance of 7.9 metres.  Width – 2 metres

 

 

PART 2

 

DESCRIPTION OF SITE OF NEW FOOTPATH

FOOTPATH 55 DARLINGTON

 

Starting at Point C, NZ 30887 15442 going north west along McMullen Road then turning north east to meet Point B, NZ 30880 15464 a distance of 21.9 metres where it connects with Footpath No. 55.  Width – 2 metres

 

 

Darlington Borough Council has certified on the 24th June 2021 that the work necessary to bring the new sections of the footpaths subject of the above two Orders into a fit condition for use by the public has been carried out and both Orders have now come into operation.
