Community Engagement Committee Monday 29th April, 2024

A meeting of the Community Engagement Committee will be held next Monday, the 29th April 2024 at 6.30 p.m. in the Parish Council Meeting Room

The meeting will be open to the public but, the number of members of the public who wish to attend will have to be restricted because of the size of the Meeting Room.  Will members of the public please let the Clerk to the Parish Council know that they will be attending by emailing him on clerk@middleton-st-george.org.uk.  

There will be a Public Participation Session of 15 minutes duration at the beginning of the meeting.   Each person to speak for a maximum of 3 minutes. It would be helpful if members of the public write to the Clerk (email: clerk@middleton-st-george.org.uk in advance of the meeting to advise if they wish to speak.

Stockton and Darlington Railway Fighting Cocks Mural Unveiling

St. George’s Day 2024

The Parish Council would like to wish all residents a happy St. George’s Day.

The St. George’s Flag was placed on the flagpole this morning to celebrate England’s Patron Saint, St. George and St. George’s Day on Tuesday 23rd April.

The flag will remain on the flagpole until Wednesday 24th April when it will be replaced by the Union Flag.

Annual Parish Council Meeting Monday 20th May, 2024 at 6.30 p.m. in the WI Hall,  Neasham Road, Middleton St. George.

Stockton and Darlington Railway Mural at Fighting Cocks

Lewis Hobson of Durham Spray Paints will be painting the S&DR mural on the garage wall backing onto the former S&DR track bed at Fighting Cocks Station between 24th to 26th April,

if you’d like to watch Lewis work you’re more than welcome to come along and view the painting process.

There will be an unveiling event taking place between 10:30am-14:30pm on Saturday 27th April.

Tyre Swing, Play Area.

Please do not use the tyre swing on the outside of the Play Area because one of the chains has broken off

A repairer of play equipment has been notified to carry out a repair and until that happens the tyre swing will be chained off on Wednesday to prevent it being used.

Stockton & Darlington Railway – Fighting Cocks

Joint Venture

Friends of the Stockton and Darlington Railway and Middleton-St.-George Parish Council

Working party in the Fighting Cocks area clearing vegetation, debris, litter picking, etc and maintaining the footpath/bridleway/cycle path.  We are now in the bird nesting season so there will be no cutting back of vegetation, shrubs, etc. and no cutting of branches.

Anyone interested in coming along and helping with any of the above.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear, gloves are advisable.

Please bring any suitable gardening tools, etc.

For anyone who does not wish to do any physical work you are more than welcome to bring along some supplies for the workers – tea/coffee, biscuits, bacon sandwiches, etc. OR just come along, say hello & see what we are doing.

Date: Friday 12 & 26 April from 1.30 to 3.00 pm. or thereabouts.
