Notice under the Local Government Act 1972 (Section 87(2))
MIDDLETON ST. GEORGE PARISH COUNCIL
VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR
I hereby give Notice that a vacancy exists in the office of Parish Councillor for the Middleton St. George Parish Council.
Rule 5(2) of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules, 2006 applies.
The rules allow TEN ELECTORS in the Parish for which the casual vacancy exists to request the Returning Officer to hold an election to fill the vacancy, That request must be made in writing within fourteen working days of the date of the notice and must be received no later than midnight on Monday 30th December, 2024.
The Returning Officer’s address is Electoral Services, Operations Group, Darlington Borough Council, Town Hall, Darlington, DL1 5QT and the telephone number for further guidance is 01325 406444.

Remembrance Arrangements in Middleton St. George
The Remembrance Flag will be flown from the Parish Flag Pole from Monday, the 4th to Tuesday 12th November, 2024.
The Village Remembrance Service a will take place on Sunday 10th November starting at 10 a.m. in St. George’s CE Academy followed by a service at 10.45 a.m. and wreath laying on the War Memorial outside the former St. Laurence’s Church, Middleton Lane.
The Parish Council will be represented at the RAF/RCAF Remembrance Service and Parade on Monday 11th November outside the former St. George’ Hotel, Teesside International Airport at 10.15 a.m. for the start of the service at 10.45 a.m.
