Local Funding Allocation Document – Version 1.1

 

1.   Introduction

Middleton St George Parish Council is committed to supporting local causes that improve the village and its community. Each year, the Council allocates funding to projects that benefit residents, improve local facilities, or enhance community services. Funding is offered through grants, which are available via three application rounds per year.

 

2.   Funding Rounds

Applications for funding are open three times a year:

  • Round 1 Deadline: 31st March (reviewed in April)

  • Round 2 Deadline: 31st August(reviewed in September)

  • Round 3 Deadline: 30th November (reviewed in December)

Each funding round will allow the Parish Council one month for reviewing applications, and successful applicants will be notified within 30 days after the review period. The maximum grant available per applicant across all three rounds is £1500 per financial year.

 

3.   Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:

  • Be a registered charity, community group, or non-profit organisation operating in or benefiting Middleton St George.
  • Community groups must provide a charter, constitution, or governing document that outlines their purpose and structure.
  • Projects must deliver clear benefits to the community and align with the Parish Council’s strategic priorities.
  • Invoices or receipts that support the amount requested must be These must relate directly to the project costs outlined in the application.

 

4.   Funding Application Process

  1. Complete the Funding Application Form (see below).
  2. Submit the completed form by one of the funding round

5.   Grants and Donations Policy

  • Purpose

This policy provides guidelines for allocating grants and donations to support projects that promote social, environmental, and economic well-being within Middleton St George.

  • Types of Funding
    • Grants: Non-repayable funds offered to eligible organisations for specific projects or initiatives. Maximum grant per year per applicant is £1500.
    • Donations: Small, flexible contributions for one-off events or urgent Maximum donation is £500.
  • General Conditions
    • The applicant must provide a charter, constitution, or governing document (for community groups) at the time of application.

Once we have received the funding application the application will be evaluated and a feasability study will take place . See exmple of this form here.

Subject to the evaluation and feasability study, the applicant will be made aware of the Parish Council’s decision.
